path to the garage
deer discovered
the hosta plants
garden perennials
grow and rest
return again

sometimes when I pray
before a meal, I remember
my grandmother’s prayers
in Swedish, and her voice

if I could read
every book
in my small library
I would then
begin again

plants and flowers grow
in summer gardens
sounds of work outside
daylilies bloom soon
books and journals
to read again
green leaves
in sun and a little wind
new poems
time in the kitchen
on an early July morning
an open summer window
and bird songs
bird on a branch
with summer leaves
pages of poetry
I am reading from Time Of Singing poetry journal.
My poems in this post are from Poems From Oostburg, Wisconsin.
